Stella's Picks - Featured Links of the Month

This is the start of what I hope will be an growing list of links to sites I find exceptionally creative, stylish, useful, unique or otherwise fun to visit. Each one is featured on my home page for a month and then archived here. This is totally subjective—and my tastes are a little offbeat—so please don't be offended if your site or a site you like is not chosen. You'll also find many more great Tomb Raider sites on my main Links and Community pages.

If you have a suggestion for the site of the month, please . If you'd like to add your site to my links directory, just fill out the form on my Add Your Site page.

January 2008: Codename-Croft.com - Lady Linny's awesome tribute to all things Croft. Includes scads of detailed info on the games, the movies, and just about everything else in the Tomb Raider universe. This is not another cookie-cutter fan site by any stretch. Lyn gives her personal touch to every page. She even shares her own Lara cosplay pix and her extensive TR memorabilia collection. I wish I had half of her dedication and motivation. Raid on, Linny!

January 2008: The Croft Codex & The Croft Dossier - Like the library at Alexandria. . . except it still exists, it's on the web and it's devoted exclusively to Tomb Raider fan fiction. These linked sites are maintained by writer-raider Heidi Ahlmen. The Croft Codex includes an extensive archive of new and classic TR fanfic. The Croft Dossier has tips for aspiring writers, interviews with established authors and much more on the craft of writing. (Due to my own laziness, the January pick ended up being the January-through-April pick, which is fine. You can't read too much great fiction!)

September-December 2007: On sabbatical from raiding tombs.

August 2007: Tomb Raider Link Directory - This month's pick is kind of a meta-pick. TRLD is the largest categorised directory of Tomb Raider links. Its extensive database lets users search by site name, keywords, language, etc., and report dead links and incorrect listings. It also allows webmasters to add and modify their own listings. So easy! So awesome!

July 2007: Kurtis Trent Estrogen Brigade - So the game character handles like an ice cream truck with four flat tires. . . whatever. The man is hot! Visit KTEB to find out everything you've ever wanted to know about Lara's Angel of Darkness counterpart, including deleted scenes, abilities Kurtis was orginally supposed to have but which were left out of the final build of the game, and more. I guarantee this site will make you appreciate Kurtis in a whole new way.

June 2007: Too busy with the Anniversary waltkhrough to pick a pick.

May 2007: TRRPG (Tomb Raider Role Playing Game) - New and experienced role players will find everything they need to create a character and adventure online in Lara's world. Read on!

April 2007: Tomb Runner - Have you got what it takes to be the fastest raider in the world? Match your skills and share your strategies with other Tomb Raider speedrunners. Also includes a speedrunners' forum and a great tutorial on creating your own gameplay videos.

March 2007: Tomb Raider Tourist - When you've tried the basic corner bug, fence bug and hole bug detailed on my Useful Bugs page, Tomb Raider Tourist can take your raiding to a whole new level—literally and figuratively.

February 2007: Wiki Raider - An A to Z Tomb Raider encyclopedia created with visitor participation. Study up on your Tomb Raider lore or share your vast knowledge with the world.

January 2007: Glidos and Tomb Raider Xtra - Don't wait for Tomb Raider Anniversary. Fire up the original 1996 Raider with fully restored audio and gorgeous high-resolution graphics. The. Best. Tomb. Raider. Ever.

December 2006: Marco Sims - At last, TR machinima! Fan-made Tomb Raider movies created with The Sims 2. Also includes fan artwork, Legend Easter eggs and other original content.

November 2006: Lara Doll - Better than Barbie! Photos of the author's custom converted Lara Croft doll in action. Includes classic and Legend Lara.

October 2006: Natla's Pyramid - A shrine dedicated to Jacqueline Natla, a.k.a. Natla of Atlantis, arguably the coolest villain in the Tomb Raider series.
