River Ganges Detail - Jumping Across the River and Back

This screenshot shows the approximate angle for the jump from the green cave to the opposite bank. The opening to the WATERFALL is behind Lara. Set up the running jump as shown above. I've shaded the wall in purple so it's a little easier to see where Lara's head and body should be in relation to the edge when she's lined up correctly.

When you take the running jump, Lara should take off as close as possible to the wall on the left side of the opening.

While in the air, press Left just slightly to make Lara curve around in that direction. . .

. . . and land on the corner of the tree root that juts out into the river. (This is the path marked with the pink arrow from 1 to 2 in the diagram above.) From there, you can turn right and jump over to the overgrown area where you enter the ruins.

LATER, AFTER YOU'VE EXPLORED THE RUINS:

This screenshot shows Lara standing on the same tree root (2 in the diagram) facing the cave where you left the quad bike on the other side of the river. The white arrow indicates the jump you'll need to make to get back into the cave. It's also shown by the curved blue arrow (9 to 11) in the diagram above. Start by jumping across the river to the green ledge on the right.

Turn so the overgrown area leading back to the ruins is on Lara's left. The cave opening is ahead around the corner. You can see the slope leading up to it in front of Lara's left hand in the screenshot above. Hop back and grab the edge of the green ledge.

Traverse to the left corner. Then traverse just once to the right and pull up. (Dangling into the water isn't strictly necessary but it helps me describe how to get the proper angle for this next tricky jump.)

Now pivot slightly to the left until the corner of the wall in front of you is just to the right of Lara's neck. Again, I've shaded the wall in purple to make it a little easier to see how Lara should be lined up.

Save the game, since you'll probably not be able to nail this jump on the first try. Then take the running jump, pressing Right while Lara is in the air to curve around slightly, as shown above.

Lara should then land just inside the cave, rather than on the slippery slope in front of the opening. It may take several tries but it can be done.
