For method "B" angle Lara just a little to right of the joint in the textures of the snow wall. Take a running jump to land on the back slope of the ice rim.
Press Jump and Right as you land to spring off the slope and land on the sloping ice wall to the right, facing uphill.
Slide down, grab the edge and traverse as far as possible to the left before letting go.
Lara will land on a slightly elevated spot at the bottom of the pit. Lara loses about 90% of her health in the drop. If you don't start with full health and traverse to the corner before dropping, she'll die.
Pick up the goodies anc climb out using the ice ladder shown above.
